WHY ARE WE HERE
The Salty Equestrian creates Christian devotionals that invite equestrians to deepen their faith and live out Matthew 5:13-16 by being "salt and light" in their communities. Our mission is to help horse enthusiasts connect their love for horses with their walk with Christ.

Our daily devotionals blend scripture, reflection, and prayer to challenge believers to integrate faith into every aspect of their equestrian life—whether training, competing, or trail riding. We aim to inspire, uplift, and empower equestrians to shine the light of Christ in their communities and beyond.

The Salty Equestrian is a call to action for believers to boldly live out their faith as transformative forces in the equestrian world. Join us on this journey to deepen your discipleship and make a lasting impact where faith and horsemanship meet.
MEET JEN
In 2021, at the tender age of 33, I decided to pursue my childhood passion for horses and take up riding lessons. I started right alongside other beginners and quickly fell in love with it, even though I fell on my second lesson, I couldn't help but come back for more and more. In the classic equestrian style, I made some great friends of all ages and even today we still cheer each other on in our riding. As I progressed in flatwork, my eyes turned to the jumping world and nothing was going to hold me back from throwing myself over those fences.

Throughout my equestrian journey, I have noticed just how much of what we do and how we do it reminds me of the great God we serve. There are so many lessons to be learned and principles to be reminded of as we seek to grow in our faith. One other thing that I noticed... the amount of darkness that I can also see in this industry. The temptations to compare ourselves to others, feel the need to be perfect or to be someone we aren't, and how our worth is intricately linked to our performance. That's only to name a few.
